JIS G3114 SMA400CP Introduce

JIS G3114 is a Japanese Industrial Standard that classifies steel based on its chemical and physical properties. JIS G3114 is primarily used for hot-rolled steel sheets, plates and strips for automotive, construction, pressure vessels and other applications. JIS G3114 steel is available in different grades, each of which has different chemical composition and mechanical properties. The chemical and mechanical properties of JIS G3114 steel are important in determining the mechanical properties of the final product.

JIS G3114 SMA400CP Material Machining Technology

JIS G3114 SMA400CP steel is relatively easy to machine with the aid of good cutting tools and high cutting speeds. The machinability of JIS G3114 SMA400CP steel is highly dependent on its heat-treatment and can be improved by pre-heat-treating the steel prior to machining. JIS G3114 SMA400CP steel can be machined in both the normalized and annealed condition although the annealed condition yields better machinability as it allows for softer chips which breaks off more easily.
