ASTM A517/A517M A517 Grade M is a low-alloy, high-strength steel plate with a tensile range of 110-130 ksi (758 - 896 MPa). The plate's thickness usually ranges from 5/16" to 2", with a minimum yield strength of 65 ksi (448 MPa). ASTM A517/A517M A517 Grade M steel is designed for use in pressure vessels and boilers in applications that require higher strength and improved toughness and weldability.

The tensile strength of the material is in the range of 115-135 ksi, and its yield strength is in the range of 75-100 ksi. The material also exhibits excellent ductility, with an elongation range of 16-25%, and a reduction of area of 45-55%.
