DIN 17212 42Cr4 Introduce
DIN 17212 42Cr4 is one of the few steel grades that provide excellent corrosion resistance and wear protection. The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and is particularly resistant to both acidic and alkaline environments. Its excellent wear protection is attributed to the high strength and the formation of a thin protective surface layer which prevents the material from corroding or breaking down.

DIN 17212 42Cr4 steel is a medium carbon steel alloy with excellent mechanical and machining properties. It favorably combines strength and formability, while demonstrating good corrosion resistance. This steel is extremely durable, with a tensile strength of 620 to 800 MPa, which makes it ideal for applications requiring heavy-duty components. Additionally, its ability to stretch up to 1% before fracturing rivals many higher strength steels. DIN 17212 42Cr4 steel also has good machinability, with a relatively low fatigue strength and good dimensional stability.
