ASTM A516/A516M A516 Grade 60 [415] Introduce

ASTM A516/A516M A516 Grade 60 [415] steel is a steel variant designed for pressure vessels and boilers. It has a high content of carbon and other alloying elements to give it a set of specific chemical, mechanical and thermal properties. The strength of the steel is relatively low compared to other steels. However, it does offer an excellent corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for applications such as storage tanks and boilers.

Smelting temperature:1813°C - 1132°C

Application:Medium and high temperature pressure vessel plate, carbon steel

ASTM A516/A516M A516 Grade 60 [415] Material Mechanical Properties

The ASTM A516/A516M steel standard is applicable to pressure vessel plates of moderate and lower-temperature service. The ASTM A516/A516M steel standard establishes a range of requirements for the strength of above-average plates, toughness characteristics, and carbon content that must be met for the various grades covered by this specification. Proper heat treatment ― such as quenching, tempering, and tempering plus heat treatment ― must be performed to obtain the desired material properties.

The mechanical properties of the ASTM A516/A516M A516 Grade 60 [415] steel are as follows:
